Flying is especially powerful with the Nether Disruptor buff Reinforced Reins - great for picking an herb or opening a treasure chest, then quickly moving to the next node. As some caches are located in caves or on ledges, flying lets you reach them much faster. Scanning for Wyrmtongue Caches is much faster with flying. The terrain on the Broken Shore is quite uneven, with hostile mobs along the road, so flying lets you quickly get to your objective without pulling extra mobs, whether it be a World Quest or rare spawn.
